Privacy Policy

EnsureU is an exam preparation service run by Grayscalelabs AI Pvt Ltd, India. This page explains what we collect when you use the EnsureU website or Android app, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. It applies to ensureu.com and the EnsureU app.

What we collect

What you give us.

• Your name, email address and mobile number when you create an account
• Your date of birth and address, if you add them to your profile
• A password, which we store only in a scrambled form that cannot be read back
• If you sign in with Google: your name, email address and profile picture from Google
• Messages you send us through the contact form or by email

What you create by using EnsureU.

• Tests, quizzes and practice you attempt, your answers, scores and time taken
• Questions you save, feedback you give on papers, and your progress through courses and books
• Questions you ask the AI features, and the answers they give you
• Posts and comments you write in discussions

What is recorded when you pay. Payments are taken by Razorpay. We receive the amount, the date, the plan and a payment reference. We never see or store your card number, UPI PIN or bank password.

What is recorded automatically. Like most websites, our servers record your IP address, browser or device type, the pages you open and when. We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand how the site is used, and Google reCAPTCHA on sign-in forms to stop automated abuse.

Why we use it

• To create your account and sign you in, including sending a one-time code to your mobile number
• To give you the tests, books and courses you are entitled to, and to remember your progress
• To show your results, analysis, weak areas and study plan
• To take payment and keep the records the law requires
• To send emails about your quizzes and announcements, which you can turn off in your profile
• To answer you when you contact us
• To keep the service secure, find faults and improve it

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not show third-party advertising based on it.

AI features

When you ask for an explanation, an analysis, a study plan or a discussion reply, the text needed to answer is sent to an AI model provider (such as Anthropic or OpenAI) and the reply is shown to you. This includes the question, the options, your answer and what you typed. We keep a count of how often each feature is used so we can manage cost. AI answers can be wrong; see our disclaimer.

Who we share it with

Only companies that help us run EnsureU, and only what each needs:

• Razorpay, to take payments
• Google, for Google sign-in, analytics and reCAPTCHA
• Amazon Web Services, where the service and its data are hosted, and which sends our emails
• An SMS provider, to deliver one-time codes to your mobile number
• AI model providers, as described above

Some of these companies process data outside India. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and of EnsureU.

Cookies and storage on your device

We store a sign-in token and your preferences (such as the exam you selected and light or dark mode) in your browser or app so you stay signed in. Google Analytics sets its own cookies. Blocking cookies in your browser will stop analytics; blocking storage altogether will sign you out.

How long we keep it

• Your account and what you created in it: for as long as the account exists
• After you ask for deletion: your account is removed for good after 30 days, during which you can cancel the request
• Payment and subscription records: kept after deletion with your personal details removed, because Indian tax law requires transaction records
• Server logs: for a limited period, for security and fault-finding

Your choices

• See and correct your details in your profile
• Turn off emails about quizzes and announcements in your profile
• Delete your account from your profile, or as described on the account deletion page
• Ask us for a copy of your data, to withdraw consent, or to raise a complaint, by writing to the address below

Security

Connections to EnsureU are encrypted, passwords are stored in scrambled form, and access to student data is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you.

Children

EnsureU is meant for people preparing for competitive exams. If you are under 18, use it only with the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us data without that consent, write to us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
